The owners of the lodge a family owned business can arrange tours of the islands in advance for up to two days of visits to historical sites, the museum, geographical points of interest including Port Speke where British explorer Speke landed in 1862 on the edge of Lutoboka bay. Bugoma village where the first Catholic missionaries arrived in 1879. Private tours of the lake can be arranged from the lodge to neighboring islands like Ffunve island a deep water fishing village at the head of the Ssese archipelago of 84 islands that stretch from Mukono and Wakiso to the international waters separating Uganda and Tanzania.
